There are so many photographers! How do I choose the right one?
Please don't make the mistake of believing that all photographers are the same, and basing your choice on price alone. Instead, let me introduce you to what I call the "three P's" of wedding photography: Photography – Personality – Pricing
Pricing is a reflection of the photgorapher's experience and also their full-time committment to wedding photography. There are many photographers who do wedding photography on the side and part but only working with a true professional who is committed to his craft full time can give you peace of mind. It's easy to take wedding photographs when the sun is shining, there's plenty of time and everything goes according to plan. But what happens when things are running late, or the weather will turn on you, or something else happens that you didn't expect? Having a professional by your side means you don't have to worry about any of this, as a true professional will be able to create professional images, no matter what happens on your day.
When it comes to Sytle, ask yourself: How do you feel when looking through the portfolio of images? Do you feel excited? Can you relate to the people in the photographs even though you've never met them? Can you envision yourself in the images?
Personality means: Is your photographer able to make you laugh and how comfortable do you feel in his presence? Does talking to your photographer feel like talking to a friend? It is so important to be able to connect with your photographer on a personal level and I always like to meet my clients at least twice before their wedding day, as I know the better we connect and get along, the more natural and fun your photographs will also be.
If you want great personality and photography, you might have to pay more than you initially expected, and if you want to pay very little, you might have to compromise on the photographer's personality, experience and style.
